Positano and Ravello are stunning, but are better for relaxing than adventures. But no matter where you stay, it’ll be amazing!

Final Travel Tips for Your Perfect European Honeymoon

When to go (honeymoon-friendly months)

When planning your honeymoon, timing is key!

You want to have enough time to enjoy each destination, see attractions, and avoid feeling rushed.

For a European honeymoon, consider the shoulder seasons: late April to early June or mid-September to early October.

The weather is ideal! Not too hot or cold for beach activities along the Amalfi Coast and Santorini.

There are fewer crowds than in July and August, making intercity travel easy and providing more accommodation options at better rates!

Depending on the season, landscapes will be vibrant in bloom or glowing in harvest, making it the best time to visit.

Essential Pre-European Honeymoon Trip Planning Check List

Packing for Different Climates

  • Beach must-haves for the coast and islands
  • Comfortable shoes are a must for your city adventures.
  • Hiking means that sturdy shoes and water bottles are key
  • A shawl for the shoulders when visiting religious sites.
  • Elegant dining and evening wear for a romantic dinner for two

Documentation and Planning

  • Book your flights, accommodations, trains, and ferries. Check for flights in “incognito mode” to track prices.
  • Plan when and where to make restaurant reservations, especially for the popular spots!
  • Look into which activities and tours need to be booked ahead of time.

Health and Safety

  • Set up an international phone or data plan to stay connected. I recommend an eSIM for data and downloading WhatsApp for communication, which lets you call or text anyone with the app without roaming fees!
  • Purcahse travel insurance for your entire trip, just in case.
  • Save emergency contacts and share your travel info for emergencies.
  • Email your documents and confirmations to yourselves.
