1. Layered Cozy Casual: Your Go-To for Chill Vibes
This has become one of my favourite airport outfit combos. You can change it up so easily and still be cute and comfy!

The base is a lightweight tank and soft joggers. Then add a loose-fitting sweatshirt for the plane because we all know the temp is always unpredictable.
Then the trick is to bring a packable down jacket.
It’ll keep you warm for the travel, but squishes down super small in your bag later. A cute pair of slip-on sneakers makes security faster.
Throw on a chunky knit scarf and baseball cap. Done.
While you’re on the plane, all three layers keep you cozy. After landing? Lose the jacket and sweatshirt, and suddenly your tank and joggers work perfectly for warm weather.
2. Sweater Dress Ease: Effortlessly Elegant
Listen, you can totally be comfy and look like you have your life together at the same time.

The star of this outfit? A midi sweater dress is the centre piece (in a breathable knit), and it’s kind of everything. You’ll feel so good that you’ll forget you look incredible walking through the airport.
Layer a longline cardigan over it, then add a lightweight trench. Wear ankle boots when you leave, but toss sandals in your carry-on.
Oh, and tie a silk scarf around your neck. It looks gorgeous, keeps you warm, and then later you can wear it in your hair when it’s hot out.
In the air, the cardigan and coat work as a pillow and blanket (game changer), then just drape them over your bag when you land. The dress alone? You’re set.
3. Smart but Stretchy: Your Elevated Comfort Vibe
This is for when you want to look like you tried (even if you’re running late) but still be comfortable.

Start with black wide-leg ponte pants and a classic basic tank top. You’ll want to add a thin merino sweater (it’ll be warm without the bulk), then layer a belted wool coat to make everything look more elevated.
Chunky loafers with socks will add so edginess to the look while still being easy slip-on/slip-off for security.
Add your favourite bag with some subtle jewelry pieces and you’re set!
Once you’ve landed in paradise, take the sweater and coat off, roll your pants, and you’ll still look amazing! Even in the heat.
4. Denim Transitional Look: Classic Cool
You seriously can’t go wrong with a good pair of jeans.

And this whole outfit just proves that denim works no matter what the temperature’s doing, and it’s timeless for winter airport outfits.
Start with a pair of straight-leg jeans (with some stretch), not too tight and a classic cotton tee. Oversized cardigan for cozy plane vibes. Packable down jacket for cold weather protection.
Chelsea boots look great and slip on and off easily at TSA. Wrap a scarf around your tote handles and tuck some sandals inside, and you are set.
The cardigan and Chelsea boots can go once you’ve landed. Just the tee with jeans will give off a comfy, pulled-together look.
5. Minimalist Capsule Outfit: Effortless & Edgy
If you’re into minimal vibes, this one’s for you.

Honestly, this is one of the easiest winter airport outfits and my usual go-to no matter what time of year!
Black leggings and an oversized tee, classic. To elevate the look, add a cashmere sweater on top (it feels incredible and doesn’t get too hot later).
Instead of a heavy coat, go with a puffy vest. It takes away all the bulk and packs way smaller.
White sneakers are comfortable for walking around terminals and match everything.
An oversized scarf keeps you warm, and I usually use it as a pillow or blanket on the plane, too!
When you land, just strip down to the tee and leggings. You still look sleek and ready for sunshine.

6. Polished Long-Haul: Comfort Meets Class
Long flights need real comfort. No question.

Here’s the secret: wide-leg jersey pants with a simple snug tee. They look intentional but feel like P.J.’s. And a zip-up hoodie makes temperature adjusting super easy.
Add a lightweight trench coat for that polished touch. Slip-on clogs that feel like slippers but look trendy. Wear compression socks underneath (seriously, do this for your legs).
Bring a pashmina. It’s a blanket on the plane, then a wrap after you land.
When you’re on the plane, your trench and hoodie will keep you cozy, and once you arrive, the tee and wide-leg pants will be breezy and chic wherever you’re headed.
7. Travel-Ready Knit Set: Coordinated & Cozy
Matching sets are everywhere right now, and there’s a good reason for it. This is coordinated and comfortable with zero thinking required.

Wear a knit matching set (tank with wide-leg pants). Add a cropped cardigan you can remove whenever. And your packable puffer will handle the cold when you’re leaving.
Finish the look off with sneakers, while tucking sandals and a cute baseball cap in your tote so you’re ready for immediate sun.
When you’re in flight, the tank stays hidden under your cardigan and puffer, keeping you warm. But strip to just tank and pants when you arrive for a super lightweight, stylish, comfy look.
8. Business-Trip Comfort: Professional & Practical
If you’re mixing business with vacation, this delivers.

Start with stretch trousers and a lightweight blouse that won’t wrinkle easily. Layer with either a thin cashmere sweater or oversized blazer for warmth and structure.
For the outer layer, go with a wool coat or a long trench coat for that polished look.
Wear cute and comfortable flats for travelling, then pack mesh slingback flats in your backpack for a dressier option when you arrive. Professional with hidden comfort.
When you land, you’ll just ditch the coat and sweater, like the others. And the trousers and blouse will keep you looking profesh in warmer temps.
Key to Picking the Right Outfit for Travelling During the Winter
Start with a breathable base layer. Think tank tops, tees, or lightweight dresses. These will help to keep you cool when the weather warms up!

Your outerwear needs to be packable or easy to layer. Definitely, skip the bulky parkas. Your coat should roll up easily and fit in your carry-on without taking over all the space.
Wear closed-toe shoes for winter, and toss in some sandals or lighter shoes to swap into after you arrive.
And let me tell you, scarves, cardigans, and cozy sweaters are your best friends. You can easily peel them off during a flight or as soon as you land!
